A thought I just had about the Lost finale...

Hey, remember when the show was good?  Here are all those characters who were together when the show was good.  They're together again!  That must mean the show is good now, right?

  1. You are being far too harsh. If this is about all the unanswered questions, just do what I did and forget there ever were questions to be answered.

  2. As more time passes since the finale, I am liking the ending more. I attribute my initial disappointment to three things.
Thing 1 - I wanted a happy ending for Jack. Although he succeeded in defeating the smoke creature in Locke's body, and enabled the survivors who wanted to escape the island to do so, this victory cost him his life.

Thing 2 - I wanted the sideways timeline to be an alternate time created by the bomb blowing up. I think the writers wanted me to think that. It was not. They fooled me.

Thing 3 - Yes, we had lots of unanswered questions.

As time has passed I've accepted Jack's fate. The sideways universe, although not what I expected, turns out to be some universe the group created to meet in after they all were dead. They are happy, so why shouldn't I be. As to the unanswered questions, there are several websites I have been reading that both site the answers to questions that had been answered, while I missed them, and reminded me of questions to which there have never been answered, which is problematic, but enlightening. Perhaps someone will do a book on Lost some day, clarifying. The time line published some weeks ago in TV guide did a great job of telling the whole story in linear fashion. Again, as time goes on I am feeling better about the whole thing.
